Inspired by ancient spice grinding techniques, mortar and pestle, and Ivan Bilibin’s Baba Yaga illustration. Color derived from turmeric, firsthand research completed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
2021. 18”x24.” Text and images rendered in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign. As my first data visualization, the data I elected to collect proved a bit nebulous and revisions are in order to increase readability and visual tact. I am choosing to include this piece as a testament to experiential data collection (I performed my own Moon Bath ritual!), as well as my budding interest in data visualization.
